Follow my adventures through nursing school and what I have gotten myself into. I'll try to post at least once a week.

Lab is done.....and clinicals start.
Crazy....the single word that describes my week. Tuesday we had our first written test in theory class over STI, contraception, pregnancy, ect. They post the right answers right after class so you know how you did right away. I'm glad to say that I got a solid score. I got some wrong but it nice knowing that now going into the rest of the semester I have a decent score to work with. Then Wednesday I had medication adminstration and injection testing. This was one of those tests were you are in a room, one-on-one with a professor, demonstrating your skills with a given scenario (with heart racing and feeling ready to vomit). Passed that!!! So now all the lab testing is done for the semester!!!! But now clinical start. Thursday I had off and then all day today we had primary care simulation and orientation. Talk about being thrown into things. Basically we walked into class, were told we had five minutes with a patient (real person but created scenerios) to take vital signs and figure out the main reason they were there and then go report to the PA (physicians assistant), were given a room number slip, and told to go. Even though it seemed really chaotic at the time when it was done, I thought it was really a fun experience. Then we had primary care clinical orientation, really boring and overwhelming...I'm going to have a lot of work on my hands (and that's an understatement).
